Summary

Great winds with a sleigh ride all the way to Solomons. Winds were blowing 15-20 with current in our favor most of the way. What a ride. Put up the spinnaker at the staring line and ride it all the way to Solomons.

After starting just a little behind the rest of the fleet, we quickly made up ground, took the lead and never gave it up.

The finish was intersting, as the race committee did not seem prepared for the on-slaught of boats so early because of the strong Northerly and had a difficult job spotting boats in the pitch black and makeshift finish line. So, they originally had us finishing 7 minutes after we actually crossed the line and in 2nd. place. We were not the only ones they missed. So with a little bit of lobbying, and witnesses and some persuasive talking we reclaimed our rightful position in first place.

Great race, good winds, excellent crew work and we were able to get a good nights sleep.
